Ashton Kutcher (aka @aplusk), has over one million and only follows back 93. Oprah has almost half a million followers and follows back 10. Oprah has only sent 4 @replies – ever – and they where to other celebrities. Most of us “regular” folks use twitter to say connected to EACH OTHER, but Celebs seem to use it as an another PR Machine, new ammunition for their publicists'. When Ashton was competing with CNN for one million followers, he claimed he was doing it “for the people” and “for the net”. It seems more to me like he was doing it for his ego. Whats the point of a million followers, if you aren't engaging them in meaningful conversation, and following back?

Follow Friday, or #followfriday is a virtual networking "event" that occurs every friday on Twitter. Tweeple recommend friends and acquaintances for other tweeple to follow by using the #followfriday hashtag. All a user has to do is state the tweeter(s) that they are recommending with the #followfriday hashtag placed at the beginning or end of the Tweet. For example, "follow my good friend @mikewayne #followfriday". Follow Friday is a nice way to promote your friends and is a great way to share connections.
